Pros

I've seen some teams get really interesting work all the time, so the engg end up working way beyond office hours continuously.

Cons

Some teams get repetitive jobs and sometimes only work on PoCs, so the engg are able to wrap up the work even before the end of working hours.

Pros

Innovative Technology: Egen.ai is working on exciting AI-driven solutions and is pushing the boundaries of technology in the field. If you're passionate about AI and data science, there are opportunities to contribute to some innovative projects. Work-Life Balance: The company promotes a flexible work environment, allowing for remote work and a healthy work-life balance. It’s a good option for those who value flexibility in their schedules. Team Collaboration: The team is generally collaborative, and there’s a positive sense of camaraderie among colleagues. People are committed to working together to solve problems and drive projects forward.

Cons

Leadership Focus: A major challenge I experienced at Egen.ai was the leadership’s constant emphasis on their past experience at Accenture and how “important” employees are. While it’s valuable to recognize employee contributions, this focus on the company's leadership background often overshadowed the need for clear, actionable strategies for scaling the business. Instead of focusing on building sustainable growth and processes, there was more attention given to self-promotion and reassuring employees of their value. Lack of Vision for Scaling: Despite having strong individual contributors, the leadership team appeared to struggle with effectively scaling the company. Decisions often felt reactive rather than proactive, and there seemed to be a lack of strategic foresight on how to navigate the challenges of growing the business in a competitive AI landscape. This disconnect became frustrating, especially for teams who were eager to see a clearer, more focused roadmap for the company's future. Communication Gaps: There was a noticeable lack of clear communication from the leadership, particularly when it came to explaining company direction or changes. This created confusion and left many employees unsure about their roles or the company's overall trajectory. Limited Employee Development: While the projects can be engaging, the focus on personal recognition rather than structured employee growth means that professional development opportunities were often overlooked. There wasn't a lot of support for career progression, and many employees felt that their potential was underutilized or not fully developed.
