Pros

- good starting wage - easy job but made tough because they don't want to hire new employee's

Cons

- bad management - stores are understaffed - no part-time jobs available - get overtime docked frequently - a lot of broken equipment because they don't want to pay to get them fixed. - store director doesn't want to hire experienced workers because they will cost him too much - most managers think that people are after they're job if someone wants to learn something new and more but it would be a really long list

Not a good place to work

Pros

It's a paycheck, and that's about the only Pro I can come up with.

Cons

This is about the corporate office located in Paramount. Although El Super is a growing and profitable company, they have a lot to learn about how to treat their employees. Employees here are suppressed and discouraged from expressing themselves and being individuals. You walk into the corporate office and you literally hear crickets chirping. There is dead silence the entire day. This silence comes from fear, fear of retribution from management if you even attempt to talk to your neighbor, use your cell phone, or God forbid use the internet on your computer or eat at your desk. There is a culture of fear at this company, and no employee who works here is happy or comfortable. There are no vacation days, no sick days, and only 5 paid holidays. One of the worst companies I have ever worked for.
