Pros

Working for El Super is like working with your family. Everybody is friendly and everybody talks to everybody.

Cons

In an effort to save cost and time, the company doesn't do any formal training. Everything is on-the-job training and the employees need to learn everything on their own, especially when getting transferred to another department temporarily or for the day. Because of this, it takes employees weeks to understand the department. Also, at the store I work at it seems as if Mexicans born in Mexico are favored over Mexican-Americans.

Pros

This is a company that is growing and it is not slowing down anytime soon. My experience here was great. I’ve never had a desk job, usually on my feet and moving, but coming here and learning the ways of HR has helped me develop into state of better understanding the field a little bit much better. The environment here is great, especially during World Cup festivities. This is a great company to work for because you get the feel of a small but BIG corporate feel, which doesn’t make it feel so intimidating

Cons

Lack of an HR Director. Some communication is lost and i think that it could be worked on.
