I hope there is not a limit of how many characters I can type here because I have much to say. Let me start at the top. Jordan Health Services merged with 2 other companies and went from 3100 employees to 31000 employees seemingly overnight. A very small staff was now expected to support all these folks. No additional staff was hired. Ticket numbers increased to an unmanageable amount and upper management made no adjustments. I worked here for over two years and never received a raise let alone a review. Yet there seemed to be available funds for the executives to order in lunch everyday, drive leased cars, lease apartments and expense rent and their bills, install 4K televisions in their offices yet you refuse to give anyone a raise and continued to issue bonuses to higher level employees as well as promote undeserving managers to directors. I think my resignation sums it up best.
It is with mixed feelings that I officially resign from my position as an employee. Mixes because I can’t decide between elation and relief.
As you’re well aware, the quality of life for the team has steadily declined since the sale and merger of Jordan Health Services with the company now known as Elara Caring. As a result we have spent nearly a whole year bending and adapting to the needs of a company with no real strategy as to how that would affect our team, or perhaps worse, without caring how it would affect our team. It feels as though were constantly catering to their requirements, but should we voice concerns over how much of our time will be wasted or how our already bulging workload will increase, were greeted with smiles and nods from people who can’t hear us over the roar of money.
This company has adopted a “let’s do it” not a “can we do it” or “should we do it” philosophy that has left us wildly flailing around in a weak attempt to find stability. Special privileges are given to various employees. Work remote on demand, bonuses for those in higher positions, among other perks that the average employee never benefits from. I have been here 2 years and have not had a raise or evaluation. While the team is under staffed, the company still finds money to hire VP of this or VP of that, how is this possible. Rhetoric like “that’s the nature of the beast” is no longer cutting it.
Simply put, I no longer feel that this is the right place for me. I apologize if the tone of this letter seems antagonistic, it is merely meant to highlight the frustrations I have experienced. I certainly hope things get better for the team and for the company. I just don’t see it happening soon enough for me.
I sincerely wish you all the best of luck in changing this company into what it could be. It won’t be easy, but nothing of worth ever is, except tuna sandwiches. Tuna sandwiches are simple and great.
