Pros

If you can get a job somewhere else there are none.

Cons

While the company continues to expand quite rapidly they bring in consultants and begin to cut workforce as much as possible. The Chief Technical Officer types with 4 fingers yet knows exactly what direction to take the company technology wise. To my knowledge salary employees within IT always work over 40hrs a week. Never see any type of compensation. Promotion within IT departments is non existent. If there is a raise its 2% pay regardless of performance.

Pros

Elavon has an good work/life balance. In general, the people here are easy to work with, although too many are focused on the next new thing to the detriment of maturing critical capabilities. The new Atlanta facilities are a great improvement. Elavon and U.S. Bank both offer paid time off to help with the charity of your choice and offer internal opportunities to serve the local community. I have to give them credit for this maturing this part of the organization. I hope it continues to grow.

Cons

Resources, in the form of budgets for technology spend and head count, needed by this company to grow and acheive the goals set by U.S. Bank are so anemic the structural changes put in place are filled in org chart only. Salaried employees bonuses are apparently independent of their performance review and the bank's earnings. The medical insurance is nothing short of atrocious. Other "perks" tend to have a veneer of a benefit but

Pros

Not too much - health benefits are OK.

Cons

My manager did not give me the time he gave other new to learn Elavon-specific information, so I worked hard to learn it on my own. He said I still did not do the job satisfactorily. I quit after two years when even repeated calls to Senior Managements' attention did nothing. The senior manager just said he's "working on it".
