Pros

management stays out of my way. Flexible when issues from personal life need attention. Most of my co-workers are good people.

Cons

Pay sucks, benefits suck. I should be making at least 5k more than i do now. for being a large company, their health insurance plans are HORRIBLE. I am using a workstation that is over 5 years old and is slow. I have requested a newer one, but they are too cheap. They do not realize that it costs them more over the course of a year to pay me to watch the computer boot up, as opposed to getting a new one. Their main concern is making money and they have no problem with ripping off customers. they keep us employees in constant fear of losing our jobs by their behavior. Their 'merit increases' are practically non existent. It is as if they know it is a bad economy and they are taking advantage.

Pros

Top level management is competent. Financial backing of USB is nice. Technology is good. People generally get along - the people really are the best part of Elavon. Pay/benefits are generally in line with the industry but growth incentives/options/profit sharing down to the lower level folks would be nice (it used to be this way...).

Cons

Beaurocracy! We've gotten TOO big and TOO "Bank" in some ways - gone are the days of nimble action, forward thinking, and a "we can do it" attitude - now it's SLOW to get ANYTHING done - eighteen levels of sign off, approvals, prioritization, escalation - nothing gets BUILT or FIXED without the beaurocracy - it's insane!

Pros

The pay is pretty good and the benefits are great. I've heard that outside of Customer Service, it is a fantastic company to work for.

Cons

There is a lot of favoritism. Poor management, there is a lot of either micro-managing. Then if you get away from the micro-managers, you'll get a manager that is so hands-off you'll wonder if you even have a manager at all. Management there is MORE than happy to let a 'regular' employee take the heat for a mistake, no matter whose fault it is. Opportunities for advancement are reserved for the favorites. The occurrence policy is very strict, but not completely unreasonable.
