Pros

The location is the only thing I can think of.

Cons

Worked with EPE for about a year and I knew I should exit this company. I was expecting to develop my career there, but it turned out that did not work. There was too much work for you and you would get overwhelmed after a few months. You had to finish all tasks without thinking to meet the deadlines. There was little room to learn from what you just completed. You felt exhausted every day, and this is not a good work-life balance company for sure. The salary was not competitive, and you had to work overtime without any compensation. You would have a bonus based on your performance and unclear criteria. The bonus could be interpreted as a small portion of your overtime work. You should expect micro-management, the HR was small, and nothing that you could rely on for any issues in the company.

Pros

- Opportunity to work on different/challenging projects but the work life balance is ridiculous. They expect people to work themselves to death. - Extremely tight deadlines. All managers accept work from clients even if the team members are super overloaded. The upper management has given them clear instructions to always say "YES" in a servile manner to clients. - Good collaboration among team members, so employees learn well. The work environment is so fast paced that some new grads and junior engineers don't get enough time to focus on developing deep understanding of concepts. - Diversity and inclusion are great. The company has hired people from different countries/ethnicities.

Cons

- Lack of transparency - the management doesn't discuss or share the revenue targets. It's surprising that managers tell you every quarter that the team has absolutely killed it but they don't tell us the numbers. - most departments/LOBs don't focus on the quality of work they deliver to clients anymore. They are obsessed about meeting revenue goals set by the upper management. - some people are promoted just for retention. It's the middle management that gets promoted every 6 months. Some people became engineering managers to directors in 1.5 to 2 years. - no efforts are being made to retain experienced engineers who have spent 2-3 years at the company. Some of them have left and some are in the process of leaving; this can derail the growth of the company. - the compensation package for staff and senior engineers is no longer competitive as compared to competing organizations. If the management doesn't revise the pay scale, competitors will poach engineers.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m happy to hear that you feel well compensated and find the incredible value in the work we do. We do have a high-pressure work environment and a lot of work coming in. We have high quality standards and that can put pressure on some staff to occasionally spend additional hours to meet. These are a result of our incredible growth that we are experiencing along with a very demanding industry. With any hypergrowth environment comes some growing pains and we are not exempt from this. We are however doing everything we can to grow in a smart and strategic manner. Our President has been the leader of these strategic growth opportunities and has worked tirelessly to lead us into the future of energy. Our President has led us in the last few months through an incredible opportunity to bring more capital to the company, and through transactions that do not lend themselves to transparency at the time. Change and a fast-growing pace is not always easy for everyone to embrace, but we continue to hold quarterly global townhalls where we share company performance openly and communicate updates. We hope that you can trust that everything we do here is with the best intentions and our employees will continue to be our greatest asset.
