Pros

Working for Anthem has a lot of pros. Some departments offer the opportunity to work from home full time or part time. This is a huge benefit and offers flexibility in scheduling doctors appointments, house work or deliveries that require your presence, working from home when sick etc. The company encourages growth and education and offers a lot of resources to help you with this including financial help for education, training hours etc. Overall this is a great company to work for. The people care, are collaborative and supportive. There are a lot of benefits to working for this company.

Cons

There is some understaffing within the IT teams. Capacity and bandwidth of resources (developers, SAs etc) can become a burden towards mid and end of year. IT resources can be overworked. The company is very large and managers can have a very large number of employees reporting to them. This can make getting one on one support more difficult, however I have always experienced that if there is something important, management will support in every way possible. Meetings meetings and more meetings. There are days when a fully 8 hour day is wall to wall meetings and conference calls. This forces the need to longer days/hours to complete day to day activities.

Pros

Flex Schedule. No Micromanage. Downtown location with parking garage. Little people interaction. Nice building with nice Cafe inside. Gym located inside the building that you have access to 24-7.

Cons

Management waits until last minute to proceed with things and to inform you of your status with you're current role. Not very much help or support when you have questions. So many people have such a heavy work load that the people who are suppose to help you are to busy to help you and its kinda a bother for you to ask them questions. training is ok... not the greatest
