Used to be Good

Pros

-Competitive pay -If you have a good manager, your work will be rewarded -If rated a high potential/performer you have chances for better advancement

Cons

-Work/life balance. CFO organization is *greatly* reducing (essentially eliminating) work at home flexibility. -Execs will tell employees they are replaceable if they don't like the changes. -Health insurance plans are a joke -Management strives for all benefits to be average and they will adjust downward to meet that -Many positions have a bonus listed (AIP). Company leadership will arbitrarily cut the bonus even though goals are met or exceeded. (In 2018 its being called an "adjuster.") -Underperformers are allowed to keep working while everyone else picks up their slack. -Desktop technology. Laptops can take 15-20 minutes to boot, Excel can take 1+ minutes to load a basic sheet. -Company is generally 10-15 years behind the curve in ideas. Execs will come up with some "new great program/idea" straight from the 2003 playbook. -Most workplace environments are badly outdated, even the new "refreshed" ones.

Company Spiraling

Pros

Absolute zero. I have nothing good to say about this place.

Cons

I was hired on the premise that I would be work from home only. Well that changed. Now I'm being harassed about going to an office. Driving an hour plus into a job where no one talks to each other and there's no collaboration. What a waste of my damn time. When I was hired , the HR recruiter lied about where my salary topped out at. And I have that in writing. It was an insult to receive a 1% raise this year. We're in the midst of a hiring freeze, and I have to talk people away from the ledge of the building half the time because they're so stressed out. We've had rifs, and from what I'm hearing more is coming. What I'm learning about this place is that no one cares about you. You are literally on your own. It's almost like a really bad Mad Max movie. Gail only cares about making money, and the shareholders. And they hired that dude that was the CEO of Nike for IT. This company is going down the toilet completely spiraling out of control.

It pays to be mediocre

Pros

The benefits are decent, but each year they become less of a "benefit" as costs and profits are re-evaluated. EH used to be a very solid place to work. They used to appreciate good talent and treat their employees with care.

Cons

Leadership sets their employees up to fail or burn out. No training or support is provided because everyone is in fear for their job and does not want to be the one that gives out wrong instruction, does anything incorrectly, or rocks the boat. The more initiative one takes and the more one voluntarily takes on (working toward raise/promotion), more is expected and the bigger target is placed on their back for being too costly or too ambitious. Once a person reaches the uppermost position in a job progression, layoffs occur.
