Pros

As a whole, the University is a solid choice for both early and late-stage professionals for a variety of reasons: - Great insurance options and benefits - Opportunities to pursue additional education through tuition waiver - A generally welcoming campus environment As a whole institution, I would encourage would-be employees to consider ERAU the same cannot be said for the Department of Fitness & Wellness specifically.

Cons

My time in the Department of Fitness & Wellness started excellently but by the end of my tenure, it had fallen into utter disarray and was a truly unpleasant place to work. The new Director of Fitness & Wellness who started in May 2024 turned a flourishing department with a well-developed group of professional and student staff into a barren waste of lost potential. Said Director berated and criticized professional staff for asking questions, providing alternative perspectives, or otherwise operating in a manner that would appear to be equitable. Before their entrance, the Department operated inclusively and cooperatively with Professional Staff having the latitude to perform their roles as they saw fit while having collaborative discussions to support and inform each other. In the three months said Director has been in their role, two of the three previous Professional Staff members have departed (each with numerous years of experience in the respective program areas), and only one remains (besides said Director). Student managers have been forced to step up into would-be professional staff roles and take on an excess of responsibility and liability.

Pros

Pay is decent and benefits are awesome. Parts are usually in stock. Work is easy since the planes are never more than 10 years old.

Cons

Logistics are atrocious and management is embarrassing. Lots of favoritism and people taking things personally. The corporate side tries to dictate things they do not understand at all. Very money hungry "non profit" company.
