      This used to be a good, stable company to work for - stay away from what it has become!

      Pros

      They offer a comparable benefits pkg w/vacation pay, as opposed to PTO - which you can't bank.

      Cons

      Very bad leadership and poor management of the company. As a general rule of thumb, employees are grossly under payed against what the market bears and this company is very traditional minded: Immersed in politics, & some unscrupulous behavior - not a big promoter of women.

      Company Going Through Painful Changes

      Pros

      Good Planning Process. Dedicated People. Global Experience

      Cons

      Very short term focused despite the robust planning process. Will cut costs the minute there is a sign of weakness in business which means that long term projects tend to get delayed and cut. Not a collaborative culture as business units fight each other for bookings credits and can tend to overwhelm customers who may not expect several people focused on the same opportunity. In order to have a long term career at Emerson, you need to have some specialized knowledge or need to be part of the management team.
