Pros

Emory is a large employer, and it's a very exciting place to be. Most of the departments (other than Math/CS) are managed by people who genuinely care about the educational mission.

Cons

The Math and Computer Science department is managed by people who are both incompetent and discriminatory regarding health issues. They outright refused to comply with or even acknowledge the medical conditions of employees, and often seemed to act with a malice towards employees that was sadly reminiscent of scenes in Office Space. Note that the scores here reflect this department; other departments likely deserve higher scores, but the university deserves blame for supporting this behavior.

Pros

I am lucky to live nearby. Compensation is pretty good and the faculty/staff (for the most part) are good to work with.

Cons

Traffic and the cost of parking. The shuttle services could certainly be improved. It is a very large organization, very easy to get lost and unsure of how you fit in. Why is coffee so expensive? Logic is not something usually practiced here.
