Lots of trainings. You will practice evidence based treatments. You are treated like a respected clinician. Great benefits. Flexible schedule. Strength focused view of clinician. Very satisfying when families are successful.

Cons

Driving, meeting families around their schedule can hinder work/life balance. Lots of documentation. Can be hard on families with young children. Often families resist treatment if it is court ordered.

It felt good to make a difference in the kids lives

Cons

Over worked and underpaid for the work. Expected to practically be a therapist without having any real training. The company has overall rules but each individual unit follows their own based on what the director or shift supervisors feels works best. Often times left alone with too many kids to watch for one person to feel safe; overnight or during the day. Company policy of ratio to worker is ridiculous, especially when dealing with a unit with several physically abusive kids.
