Pros
This is a great environment to do great work for a good cause, and have fun while doing it. Quality is emphasized over arbitrary deadlines. This is not a sweatshop, there are no death marches, there are no overbearing managers. You are treated as a human being, and as such your opinions and experience are extremely valuable. A lot of freedom is extended to the development team to research and experiment with different technologies in order to produce a quality product. The company was created to help patients receive lifesaving treatments faster. Everything you will do at AssistRx is to further this goal. It is rewarding to know that your work is directly helping to save lives. Perks include free beer (office kegerator), soft drinks, coffee, and snacks. There is a ping pong table and a foosball table. Employees may use them at any time. There is also a fitness room onsite. There are many very smart people working at AssistRx. It is a great place to learn new things and expand your skillset. The company does everything they can to assist you with your career goals, and they are happy to provide you with the materials and resources you need to succeed. This includes books, software, e-courses, seminars, and more. The culture at AssistRx is very laid back. You can be candid without fear of retaliation. Upper management, including the owners, are down to earth and are always willing to hear anyone speak their mind. They understand that their most important resource is YOU. All in all, it is a great place to work for someone who can bring something to the table. We want people who take pride in what they do, and strive to make it the best it can be.
Cons
If you're just looking to coast by and collect a paycheck, this is not the place for you. We ask for and expect quality. That said--compensation is not competitve. The company committed to addressing this in January. We are still waiting. The hiring process can be unpredictable. It is not unheard of to not hear anything for weeks. The commute can be rough (I-4 traffic) unless you live in south/west Orlando, but there are opportunities to work from home. We have an open floorplan, which can be distracting.
