Great ownership and learning, but expect a fast pace - Operating Partner Banyan Software Employee Review

Pros

Real ownership from day one — you drive decisions, not just execute someone else's strategy. Unmatched learning curve — exposure to M&A, GTM, finance, and operations across a live portfolio, not theory. Meritocratic and modern — step-up opportunities come from performance, not tenure or hierarchy. Work directly with senior operators and founders — high-caliber peer group accelerates your own growth. Decentralized model means your impact is visible and attributable, not diluted across a large org.

Cons

Fast-paced and self-directed — you need to be comfortable building your own structure, not waiting for one. Resources and support exist but are opt-in, so initiative is rewarded more than compliance. High expectations from day one — steep ramp-up, less hand-holding than a traditional corporate track. Portfolio companies vary in maturity, so exposure and challenges differ depending on where you land. Not a fit for people who want a fixed playbook — ambiguity is part of the job.

Pros

Great collaborative culture, sense of urgency around technology, and deliver on what they say

Cons

As the company gets bigger, it's hard to keep the same standards for hiring, but Banyan has done a great job given their size.

Pros

1) Amazing leadership team with solid future forward AI vision 2) Extremely supportive in helping their companies achieve their goals whether that be through AI adoption, best practice training, talent acquisitions, growth and product strategies. 3) They give back to the community in so many different ways. It speaks volumes to the board and leadership team that they are not just another business and that is it all about money. 4) Great culture and it is foundational in everything they talk about.

Cons

None at this time as the leadership is doing everything they can to support their people and their acquired businesses.
