Pros

Remote-First agency. Relatively flexible hours. Team members are amazing, smart, and talented. Interesting clients and work to feature on your portfolio. Unlimited PTO. If you're just starting your career and want to learn fast, Bellweather could be a good fit otherwise you’ll likely discover opportunities elsewhere where you'd earn more and receive the proper leadership needed for professional growth.

Cons

Leadership is very much reactive, punitive, and resistant to feedback. Despite labeling themselves as a progressive women- and minority-owned firm, they fail to practice what they preach so expect to experience an unhealthy amount of microaggressions. Team members often feel unsupported and regularly experience condescension. Owners will gaslight, belittle you in front of other staff, and opt for a fear-based approach rather than providing support and guidance. All your mistakes are tracked, fostering so much anxiety that asking for help is avoided due to the fear of negative impacts on performance reviews. Finally, if you're not a young designer, your chances for career advancement are pretty limited. Before applying or joining, be sure to do your due diligence, as it's rare for people to stay here for more than a year and there's a reason for that.
