Pros

Some nice people to work with

Cons

Incohesive codebase that's difficult to troubleshoot or add new features Many systems run out of date software Always reinventing the wheel instead of utilizing what's already out there (and their implementations.were often worse) Codebase doesn't follow best practices No clear ownership of codebase and products For many co-workers, they are there to collect a paycheck and put in low quality in their work which makes the jobs of others more difficult and unnecessary A lot of egos get in the way when making decisions and delivering software High turnover of talented and good-hearted engineers because previously mentioned cons are not going away Draconian HR

Pros

I’ve had a very positive experience working at Bluehost. The company genuinely cares about its customers and invests heavily in supporting small business owners, which makes the work feel meaningful. Leadership is approachable, transparent, and open to feedback, and I’ve had strong opportunities to grow professionally through increased responsibility, cross-functional projects, and leadership development. The culture is collaborative and supportive, especially across teams. There’s a strong focus on continuous improvement, data-driven decision making, and empowering employees to bring ideas forward. Work-life balance is respected, and flexibility is treated as a norm rather than a perk. Bluehost is a great place to work if you enjoy problem-solving, collaboration, and being part of a company that supports entrepreneurs and small businesses. I’m grateful for the growth opportunities and the people I get to work with every day.

Cons

Like any large, fast-moving company, priorities can shift quickly, and there’s always a lot happening at once. This can be challenging at times, but it also creates opportunities to learn and stretch.
