Pros

Very good culture, relaxed enough to be enjoyable while still being aggressive at delivering excellent results. Genuine meritocracy and encouragement to take on interesting projects and grow your knowledge. The fun, casual, focused culture you would expect from a tech company is evident in great measure. If you want to work with people that learn Python and build robot arms in their spare time, this is the place.

Cons

EIG influence post-merger is less ideal. They are fairly tight-fisted with expenses, more aggressive with sales and the bottom line. Corporate culture is becoming more 'standardized' with the merger and it is generally disliked. As an example, insufficient techs on the support floor now have industry standard wait times, rather than Bluehost's prior 'less than 30 seconds' goal. Similar cost cutting is evident in server administrator numbers and compensation as well. This is cheap in the short-run, but expensive in the long run!

Pros

I’ve had a very positive experience working at Bluehost. The company genuinely cares about its customers and invests heavily in supporting small business owners, which makes the work feel meaningful. Leadership is approachable, transparent, and open to feedback, and I’ve had strong opportunities to grow professionally through increased responsibility, cross-functional projects, and leadership development. The culture is collaborative and supportive, especially across teams. There’s a strong focus on continuous improvement, data-driven decision making, and empowering employees to bring ideas forward. Work-life balance is respected, and flexibility is treated as a norm rather than a perk. Bluehost is a great place to work if you enjoy problem-solving, collaboration, and being part of a company that supports entrepreneurs and small businesses. I’m grateful for the growth opportunities and the people I get to work with every day.

Cons

Like any large, fast-moving company, priorities can shift quickly, and there’s always a lot happening at once. This can be challenging at times, but it also creates opportunities to learn and stretch.
