Pros

A few of my co-workers were very pleasant to work with and I've become friends with them and remained friends since my departure. Many talented individuals within the company. Fruit salad on Thursdays. Employees have the option to "win" tickets to concerts or games at the Verizon; you had to put your name in the drawing (event was that evening or a day or two before). Free parking.

Cons

The pay was low for an administrative assistant. The work was boring and mundane. If you wanted to participate in something more challenging it was often times just handed to someone else that had more tenure. My position most often received the type of work people didn't want to do which was organize files or update a word documents with strict micro-managing. Very little room for advancement within the company. They were not flexible on hours. If you needed time off, it was a process which wasn't always approved. If a family emergency occurred it was frowned upon if you had to leave no matter how dedicated you were to your job. Most like the pizza on Thursdays but I found it to be horrible for anyone that wanted healthier options. The salad had cheese on it so the only option I cared for was the fruit salad. I would have preferred they ditched the food idea and put that extra cash in our pay. Annual evaluations didn't occur so you never knew you did something wrong or did something right. 9 times out of 10 you learned a co-worker wasn't at work the next day or suddenly left that afternoon because they were "fired". I saw so many employees start and leave in the one year I was there.
