Pros

The people you get to work with are great, knowledgeable and have some crazy talent. The project for the most part is fun to work on especially since it's the biggest looter shooter in the world. Bungies benefits are some of the best in the industry and as re hard to beat. Bungie finally went full remote but it has come at a time where they lost a ton of talented folks and with those folks went the knowledge of systems that are extremely hard to use at times.

Cons

Bungie continues to bleed talented individuals with years of knowledge and skills in favor of junior artist. It typically is great to have junior artist entering the industry however, Bungie has opted to let senior talent go to reduce the overhead cost and that means things that would take a couple hours to do now take a couple days. Bungie is bleed industry leading talent because of their current pay structure. Before COVID they were very competitive with their salary but as time moves on they continue to fall further behind industry pay. As a Principal Artist I make 160,000 but friends I know who left Bungie are making 200,000 or more at smaller studios. Bungie is also loosing and having a hard time getting senior or higher level talent because they fully support geo based pay "they keep saying this might change" but as it stands if you don't live in downtown Bellevue or west side of WA you will take roughly a 20% decrease in pay. I was told my salary would go from 160,000 down to 120,000 it I moved roughly 30 miles away from the studio where homes are more affordable. The current employees that stayed at Bungie are currently doing the bare minimum to stay because each year they 1/4th of there big payout that comes from Sony. With that said employees that have only been at Bungie for 5 years have left because their payout is far less then they could make at a different studio. From my perspective several of the incubation projects at this point have been restructured and don't appear to be moving along smoothly and that's very unfortunate because some of them looked really fun.

Pros

The people are what made working at Bungie amazing, a lot of very smart & talented people.

Cons

A massive talent drain over the past three rounds of layoffs. Lots of fumbled bets by past leadership that lasted long after they left. The benefits used to be stellar but got reduced year over year after Sony acquisition due to 'belt tightening' & aligning to Sonys benefits. Future is very questionable for the studio.
