I joined CSC Generation from investment banking and believe this is the best career move I’ve ever made. I’m saying this because I truly believe that CSC Generation offers the fastest and most efficient way for me to learning investing and business. I am now working in a pure investing role in another company outside of the US and I could not be more grateful for the training and experiences I had in CSC that gave me a huge leg-up over my coworkers. I was staffed on managing a major acquisition from day one and there could not be anything more exciting for an investment banker who built models and created PowerPoints all day. With on the job trainings from many senior members (for examples, I have weekly one-on-one calls scheduled with Justin), I was able to impact the business positively almost immediately. After I proved myself and became more experienced, I was given even more responsibilities on both running portfolio companies and conducing due diligence on new deals directly with Justin. There were numerus days and nights when I spent hours working with Justin directly to strategize, being treated like a true partner rather than some guy to run numbers. In addition, as a startup, random things come up all the time and you will be challenged in ways you would never imagine, and I believe it is through those moments when you start to truly understand business. Afterall, how many 20-year old get to negotiate with CEOs/CFOs of some of the largest companies in the country, pull triggers on acquisitions and run the companies you buy, make hiring and firing decisions on hundreds of employees, etc. Lastly, CSC Generation is more like a family than just a place to work. Earlier this year I had to leave the country for a family emergency, and the help EVERYONE in the company offered was beyond my wildest imagination. Till this day, I still chat with people in CSC all the time and I treat them as some of my closest friends.
Cons
To say the job is challenging is an understatement, it is not for everyone, the initial learning curvy could be quite high. It is important to be mentally and physically prepared and actively seeking guidance and feedbacks.
