Pros

Some coworkers are nice enough. Benefits were good, but insurance has gone way downhill.

Cons

I always believed I had the ability to take whatever life throws at me, but years at Canon ITS have shown me that I can’t. The job was already going downhill before the pandemic, but things are much worst now. Calls come in back to back and you don’t get a moment to breathe or relax, they change hours on you whenever they please and there’s no concern for the agent. Agents are already stretched thin and additional responsibilities are added on. It would help if management seemed to care or be in it with us, but they’re way out of touch. Ideas aren’t respected if they don’t come from them directly and they ignore continual pleas for help with empty promises. Decisions they do make are not well thought out and they can’t hire because no one wants to work there. In a meeting, it was implied it was because people didn’t want to work rather than acknowledge that people don’t want to work high-stress jobs only to get empty praise and thanks while being treated like a worker drone. We continually see cuts monetarily, but still receive emails from the higher ups talking about all of our profit. I’m sure that will earn us a box of cookies come the holidays rather than a decent bonus. Reaching out to those above us isn’t helpful as they may read the first sentence of your statement and ignore anything you’ve said after. After the big lay-offs last year, the only management left are the “yes-men.” Employees in technical support are also now heavily micromanaged and have to get approval for every little thing we do. Pay across the company is low and raises are small.

Pros

Remote work is offered M-F. Good benefits. Good job if you enjoy repetitive work. Good work culture. Helpful and friendly coworkers. They make sure to help get new employees prepared for taking the first phone call which can be daunting. It's the only call center job I've worked but people with lots of calls center experience told me that it's more pleasant compared to other call centers.

Cons

They tend to be understaffed. Better make sure you're consistently getting a good handle time because they will get on your back if you don't. They used to do a thorough job of providing in person training but ever since the pandemic the training is exclusively online which doesn't provide all the context necessary for learning how to manually operate certain products. The same goes for employee appreciation which went downhill post pandemic.
