Pros

Great benefits! Some fun atmosphere, discounted/free cruises (but with limitations,) enthusiastic training! There also seemed to be opportunities within the company if PVP was not for you.

Cons

Initially, I was thrilled about the potential to earn money and be part of a dynamic sales team. However, as time went on, I encountered some significant challenges that made my experience less enjoyable. "Most of you will not make it..." -quote from management on one of my first days. I found myself calling and leaving voicemails all day, feeling more like a robot than a salesperson. There was immense pressure to make sales, but many of my calls went straight to voicemail. The clientele left much to be desired, as I frequently dealt with outdated numbers and unfriendly individuals. While the expectation to work until a certain time is standard, the ridicule for not putting in overtime was disheartening. Many staff boast about sacrificing personal time and family life during peak seasons, which I found troubling. I value my personal life and believe there should be a balance. Team meetings were often led by men blasting music, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a frat party than a professional environment. This overly masculine, male-centric vibe put a bad taste in my mouth. I am all for fun, but it gave very “sales bro.” (If that means anything to you.) About a month in after training, I was assigned a "call buddy" which was a fun name for someone who monitored my call volume. One day, through a teams message, she told me that "100 calls is unacceptable." (Its 80 call minimum per day. On this day I had 3 hour meetings and could not work overtime.) I was shocked to learn she had taken note of this information. It felt invasive and added unnecessary stress, especially since she wasn't even part of management. In summary, this job can be rewarding for those willing to put in the grind and endure the pressures. If you thrive in a high-stress environment and are ready to battle through the challenges, it might be a good fit for you. However, for those who value work-life balance and a more fulfilling work experience, it is not the best choice.

Pros

I believe there are excellent opportunities for career growth and development within my team and across the company. I feel supported by both my leadership and my colleagues, which creates a positive and collaborative work environment. The company demonstrates a genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion by fostering a culture where everyone feels valued, heard, and safe.

Cons

Because many processes involve coordination across multiple departments, delays in one area can occasionally impact overall timelines. Additionally, as much as I feel support from my team and department on land, I can only speak on that. A shipboard career faces its own challenges.
