Pros

It's a nice office and the people are friendly. The company pays fairly well, although it's almost impossible to negotiate a salary increase unless you actually get promoted (even if you take on additional responsibility).

Cons

There is no accountability so people will constantly shirk responsibility or face no consequences for sometimes hugely costly mistakes which can be very demotivating. The people who do well here are people who are self-promoting and don't rock the boat. Getting ahead is all about getting friendly with senior management whilst it is rare for people to get promoted on merit. I know this is true to a certain extent for all companies but I've never worked somewhere where it's this bad. For a company who is always going on about skills development, they invest little in training up their own staff. As well as this, there is no cohesion between different departments, the lack of communication from senior management is staggering and the amount of bureaucracy you have to go through to just change a job title, get sign-off on a new project or advertise for a new position is beyond insane.

Pros

Used to be a strong brand with great products to sell to customers and see them succeed.

Cons

Now it's micromanaged with lots of reporting on why every side of the business is collapsing.
