Pros

I truly do like a lot of the people I work with. It's a fun group of people, and I've made a lot of good friends. There's potential with this company and to some extent you can create your own path to success at Cotiviti. But I don't think anyone comes to Cotiviti and envisions working here long term. You go here to collect a paycheck (in some instances a very generous one) and will more than likely want to move on within a year or two.

Cons

Whether or not you like your job at Cotiviti I would assume largely depends on the account you work on. But there's some things across the board that probably frustrates everyone. - Extremely top heavy company - VPs come and go so often it seems like we get emails about it every day -Very outdated technology. I could do my job a lot better if the company valued efficiency. They're very short sighted and in my opinion aren't taking the necessary steps to ensure we have everything we need to be the leader in payment integrity. -Micromanaging is brutal at times. Within a couple weeks, your ears will bleed every time you hear "ID" (amount of money in claims that is written). -No consistency between accounts. We serve almost every major healthcare insurance company and every account is its own silo. As an auditor, how you get paid and how much you make depends on the account. It makes no sense. We all work for the same company and we do the same job but just have different clients - and some of them are a lot more difficult than others. We all have the same basic systems, but any advancements you make are solely for your account - not to help the company as a whole. No communication between accounts whatsoever. -I can't speak for all accounts, but some of the people in leadership positions - managers, directors, and even VPs are simply not qualified for those positions. If you've never audited healthcare claims a day in your life, it's going to be difficult for you to succeed in a management position. It's a very fast paced & changing environment and we constantly have to innovate. I have managers going into calls with clients that don't understand basic auditing and what we're trying to ask and we constantly just get pushed over by the client. And these are people making 6 figures. -Just because you know healthcare doesn’t mean you’re going to succeed here. The most successful people I know here are those that like to work with numbers, those that are good at pattern recognition and seeing trends, and those that are quick with computers. I had no previous healthcare experience. You can teach someone healthcare. You can’t always teach someone to be good at working with numbers and SQL language.
