Pros

Enhance customer service skills Can study at front desk when no one is around Workplace is being monitored by cameras = feel more safe working alone (managers can remotely monitor when they are not on duty) Flexibility in schedule

Cons

Work alone (safety issues) Different treatments between "regular" and "new" guests require some memorization Guest might "hit on you" when you are alone Confronting guest if they have damaged the room can be difficult because deposit will not be returned Guest might argue with you on pricing (some might even yell) A little bit above minimum wage ($12 @ Year 2017) Can feel discouraged by management because of close monitoring on camera and they expect you to know everything with the little training they have provided

Pros

Depending on the manager or property owner- shifts can be great. If it’s located in a nice city- it’s great.

Cons

If it is not located in a nice city and if the upper management is terrible- don’t even bother.
