Pros
Casual atmosphere, Friendly and helpful coworkers, some decent benefits but usually have no time to take advantage of them and I actually REALLY like what I do for work. I love working with the clients
Cons
The benefits are not what the employees ask for nor are we even asked. The benefits are based on what the owners like to do. If you love tennis and skiing then you'll love the benefits. who asked for a beach tennis court... nobody, but since the CEO is a wanna-be tennis star, he "gave" us this benefit. I ski so the discount on ski passes is great, but golf? Nope. Why? CEO doesn't golf so who gives a crap if the employees do. Trust me every "cool" benefit is based on what the CEO likes and there is ZERO input from employees. They spend $500,000/year on company parties that are only ok, I would much rather have a bonus than go to another party with people I don't want to be partying with. Nope, The CEO wants it so he can boost his self important ego. I fear for my job every day because they just fire people on a whim and for not real reason. They do not give reviews or warnings, just pull you away from your desk and send you out the door. The turn over is AMAZINGLY high and they try to keep the firings and people quitting as much under the rug as they can. You do not get to keep your job because you do a good job, you keep your job if people like you... the right people. This is the same for raises and promotions, I have seen so many people promoted because they have friends and don't have the skills to do the job they are promoted to. Its insanity.they did a restructure in November of 2011 that took until may of 2012 to get some what set and guess what they just announced and started a complete restructure. Do they ask any input from the employees... Nope! Do the care... Nope! they just stir things up and see what happens. its very unstable and the pay is only average. They can't keep my department even close to fully staffed and as a result we have way too many clients to do the job properly, do they care? Nope! Met with one of the founders and he thinks the client load is just fine. When was the last time he was on the floor or even on a call? YEARS!!! He is sooo out of touch with who his real clients are. I stay because I truly like what I do. Many employees have moved to the competitors because the pay is much better, but I want to stay in VT and pray that this company will get sold to someone that cares. This company could make some slight changes and they could truly be what they are trying make everyone believe they are. My advice is don't work for this company unless you know one of the founding 5 or your spouse works here in a decent position. If you don't heed my warning, you too will be drinking the Koolaid.
