Pros

- Right attitude and good understanding of engineering process - most of managers I had to deal with were doing their job quite well and some of them even excellent - Challenging tasks and vast opportunity to learn (especially at Java field) - Competitive salaries (since most of money they earn in US/Europe the company has an ability to keep their employee safe in the middle of local financial crisis). - Opportunity to make business trips to States\Europe - Offices in Munich (small but growing) and Chicago (still under construction). They are in the process of partial relocation of their teams to foreign offices so if you're interested - this is a good chance - Good overall compensation package - medical insurance, free foods at office, quite cheep language courses, fitness compensation.

Cons

- Very opaque processes. It is really hard to understand that is going at the company until are top-manager/have a top-manager friend - Salary is not that big - good but you might find better offers - You need to be manager to work on laptops/MacBooks - This is mainly a Java company. Not a bad thing actually but you should agreed with Java being you main development language. - Quite slow in introduction of new processes and technologies. The company has a plenty of brilliant developers and often they tend to avoid things that are "not invented here"

Pros

Sophisticated projects, small and large, short and "eternal" - one will find its best fit to work on. Relatively flat hierarchy, not much of "from top to bottom" type of management, relaxed control processes. Sub-cutting edge technologies (large projects), but fairly modern anyway. Personal performance reviews somewhat useful for career and professional development, if you are lucky with your team leader/dept. manager. Meals provided on site, 3 sick days, standard 4 weeks vacation, salary paid bi-weekly with no delays in years (except for 1-2 days on a very few occasions)

Cons

Not really 100% agile process. Time-tracking for developers/QA/M&S (semi-automated). Can't take all 4 weeks of vacation at once - must split by 2w+2w or smaller chunks. Personal performance reviews are not necessarily leading to salary increase (make sense, but... ;-) Salaries are fixed in rubles for Russian locations.
