Pros
- Many talented and passionate people - Healthcare benefits are slightly above industry standard - 401K match at 4% - Business outlook is strong
Cons
- Base compensation is not competitive, as a result the technology organization is understaffed in all departments - Lack of focus on process and quality due to understaffing leading to emergencies every week - Promotions and raises are rare, expect to perform above expectations and get 2-3% - No investment in training or education, expect to be thrown into a sea of business jargon and obfuscated technology with little to no help - 50 to 60 hour weeks with weekend work and 24/7 on call are the norm - No buffer between the business and technology, senior tech management will say "yes" to any business request regardless of workload or timing - Most of engineering is stressed and burnt-out with constant emergencies and uncommunicated deadlines or requirements. Multiple employee surveys have stated as much but nothing meaningful has been done.
