Pros

Dropbox REALLY cares about it's employees: - Company shuts down 1 extra day per month because remote work is hard. This is on top of the normal US holidays - W/L balance is highly supported. Meetings are limited to 4 "Core Collaboration Hours" each day leaving the rest of the day to get work done. While meetings sometimes stretch outside of CCH, I still end up with big chunks of time to focus on my own work - Personal time is respected. Email and Slack stops after 5 or 6PM and doesn't restart until 9AM and is non-existent over the weekends. - Generous paid Parental Leave of 6 months spread over 12 months (can be split into 2 chunks) - 401K matching. Just added an After Tax option and Backdoor Roth 401K rollovers. - Unlimited PTO is encouraged to a point (obviously taking a large % of time off will be noticed and denied) - Pay is usually competitive w/FAANG - Fully remote but quarterly budget for getting together for team building / planning provides cross-company, in-person meetings - $7,000 per year for remote expenses covers everything you'd normally get in a tech company: food, WeWork space, exercise equipment, etc. Good products - Solid product w/top of market name recognition - Expanding into other markets to continue to grow the business - Strong working relationships across functions and divisions

Cons

People - Attrition is high (due to better pay at startups?) - 4-year cliff (similar to other companies) means compensation can drop at year 5 - No ESPP (But that's just a money giveaway. Who really holds on to the stock vs immediately selling for the gain?) Products - Fierce competition in the cloud storage market makes significant growth challenging - Adjacent businesses (HelloSign, Doc Send, Paper) are growing but future uncertain - Not leveraging industry standards enough

Pros

Benefits: - Personal wellbeing allowance - Annual performance bonus - Equity - Internet & cell phone reimbursement

Cons

Very little room for growth. No real sense of job security due to the constant layoffs. Execs chase the latest and greatest trends, only to abandon projects halfway through. There’s no real sense of leadership or direction—where’s the company headed? What’s the actual goal of [xyz] project?
