Pros
Lots of change, excitement and opportunity to make an impact. Within the last year, Duck Creek has spun out of Accenture to be an independent company, acquired two companies (Agencyport & Yodil), formed a strategic JV with Marsh/Dovetail and kicked off a re-branding campaign. It feels like a high-paced start-up with great talent but with the stability of an industry leading product and great customer base. Leadership is approachable, willing to listen and committed to taking advantage of this market opportunity and supporting the teams to achieve it. Boston Seaport location is fantastic, right in the center of the tech/innovation district; and while office space is tight, new space is rumored to be coming in early 2018. Columbia SC offices are right downtown and first class. Have not been to other locations yet. Comprehensive benefits package (could use a commuter benefit). Casual, friendly atmosphere and Bagel Wednesdays!
Cons
With all of this activity, acquisitions, new hires, etc... there are some process and communication gaps, but on the flip side, there is great opportunity to dive in and affect change, and people are working hard to close the gaps. Culture could use some focused effort to bring all these various groups together into a single, unified group working against a common strategy. Would be good to see some Commuter benefits to encourage use of public transit.
