Pros

Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion initiative is a great program and there are many opportunities for people to connect and learn about other groups of people and cultures. There are some really intelligent and nice people that work here. During the pandemic, the company did a good job of communicating and the push for the DE&I initiative, a growth mindset and mindfulness helped build a sense of community amongst the workforce.

Cons

Senior Leadership hides their lack of clear direction and transparency behind the facade of a growth mindset, mindfulness, and DE&I initiatives. Many developers are overworked while it is very hard for junior members to get a good foot in the door. Growth and chances for growth are a roll of the dice, you may get lucky and get quality opportunities for growth and development and you may not. Currently, the internal work environment is high stressed due to recent unexpected layoffs and unclear messages of the company is doing ok. Be forewarned about the callous treatment of employees during the first round of layoffs recently on Nov 30. Duck Creek Senior Leadership chose to follow a template of what not to do when you have to layoff your workers. Short unexpected meetings with no advanced warning, fingers pointed at the employee as an excuse of poor performance with no performance improvement plan or trail of documentation, termination effective after this meeting, a document will be sent to you at your personal email address, at some time later, for you to sign. No HR, no ability to ask questions, no advanced notice, no further information provided. Now employees that remain are feeling the pressure of extreme amounts of scrutiny in deliverables and wondering if they will be next. Senior Leadership says everything is ok but hasn't explained themselves in regards of the unexpected callous treatment of long term employment. Yes, layoffs happen but there is a better way and to me this showed the true colors of what this company really values.

Pros

Sensible and hardworking coworkers who appreciate each other

Cons

Terrible leadership, clueless about what true leaders do. Same people in the senior management get recycled to do different jobs. Some have never worked anywhere else, they have been here since graduating from college. They have culture of protecting each other so concerns are ignored with the explanation that we know each for number of years hence everything is good. Managers are immature in people management and are outright vengeful for the petty reasons during the performance review.

Pros

Not much at this point.

Cons

Where to begin…be careful about joining this company. The CEO is great but his new executive team and key senior leadership members have completely changed the culture and morale. Turnover is constant and happening at all levels, with replacements coming in with big titles but little operational experience or tactical support strategies. Compensation is subpar for a tech company.
