Pros

They have great paid benefits and really great employees working there. They know who to hire to fit in with company culture (for the most part). They often have events outside of work, and I think HR has really started to step in and implement positive changes from some of the negative feedback they’ve received lately.

Cons

There is NO job security here. Sad but true. You could walk in one morning with a job, and walk out by lunch without one, with no warning. The management team is horrible. It’s as if they picked the names out of a hat randomly, and gave them positions. If the management team was led with a CLEAR vision, and a strong and knowledgeable executive team, this company would have the opportunity to be great. People do not stay here more than about 2 years (if that) because of this reason and because they get over looked. It’s amazing how many talented minds are in one building, but if you’re not a “favorite” it doesn’t matter what you know because you’ll never get the opportunity to grow outside of the role they hired you for. The executive/management team is basically the cast of ‘Mean Girls (and Boys)’. They gossip more than any of the employees, which is why you can be here today and gone tomorrow. Best thing to do is your job, keep your head low, and DONT have any opinions. They don’t matter anyway.

ExamSoft wants to create a fun and supportive environment for all of our employees, so we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the benefits and perks of the organization. It is important to us that we are able to make the office fun and that we can provide competitive benefits! We love our monthly events and are excited that they were well received. Also, we are happy to hear that you have noticed the response from HR in regards to feedback. Employees are our most important asset, as such we will always work to improve and be a better employer. We’d like to address a few of your concerns: First, ExamSoft strives to work with each and every employee in the organization and actively works to mitigate any employee performance issues. Out of respect for our employees, we do not share an employee’s reason for departure, but as a process, there are many steps we take to retain an employee before a separation occurs. Second, as a company grows and evolves, the needs/direction of the business can change. The leadership team reviews the company’s vision on a consistent basis and works with management and the employees to drive this vision downward. Additionally, we discuss the direction of the organization in companywide Town Halls, department meetings, etc. to ensure all employees align with the company’s vision. Finally, gossip or other malicious behaviors are violations of the employee handbook and reports of these behaviors are investigated and mitigated by HR. We expect our employees to be professional at all times and respectful of their peers. If you have any other feedback for us, please feel free reach out through Glassdoor, or, contact our HR team directly. We are extremely dedicated to making sure ExamSoft remains a Best Company to Work For—and will use this information to better our company and processes in the future. Thank you!

Pros

ExamSoft has strong leadership with a clear and consistent vision for where the company is headed. The organization does a great job staying true to its identity while continuing to evolve its product suite in ways that meet and often exceed client needs. There is a genuine mindset of continuous improvement, and that shows up in both the platform and how teams approach their work. It’s also a mission you can genuinely get behind. The company is deeply invested in doing right by its clients and often goes further than most to ensure success. There’s a strong commitment to getting it right, every time, not just delivering a product. Training and onboarding are taken seriously, and teams are generally supportive and willing to help you ramp and succeed. There’s a sense that people want you to do well, especially early on. The company also does a solid job of practicing what it promotes around work-life balance. While base salaries may not always be the most competitive, the bonus structure, commissions, and overall benefits package help offset that gap in a meaningful way.

Cons

Upward mobility is limited, and career progression can feel unclear or stagnant over time. There is also a noticeable tendency for favoritism within management, which can impact opportunities and team dynamics. The culture can lean political and, at times, toxic depending on the team or leadership structure. While it’s not the worst environment out there, it can create friction and inconsistency in employee experience.
