Pros

I met a lot of nice people at Examsot. They have good health benefits, 401k matching after two years, and lots of company events. If you are lucky enough to work on the new stuff, then they have a nice tech stack.

Cons

Unfortunately most of the people I knew have left. The company is a revolving door, and very few people last more than a year. I should have walked out on my first day when I was presented with a non compete. Only an insecure failing company would make you sign a non compete. Honestly the upper management doesn’t know what they are doing, and are paralyzed in making decisions. For a small company to support so many products, legacy and new is ludicrous. They have no roadmap, or innovation. They keep using the same testing ideas from ten years ago, and their competitors are numerous, more innovative and far more agile. This is not a technology company. All their major product development is outsourced. The engineers they do hire are just there to maintain and fix bugs.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. Your feedback is valuable to us and we are always looking for ways to improve as an organization. It's great to hear that you enjoyed working with your peers at the organization- we hire great people and work hard to find employees who are a match for our company culture. We'd like to address a few concerns you mentioned. The company has had turnover in the recent year, however, a large percentage of turnover is due to consolidating into one location. Unfortunately, not all employees in our Florida location were able to make the move, which resulted in turnover. As an organization, we are constantly growing, evaluating, and planning for innovation in our products. We of course have roadmaps for our products that are always under review to ensure they are the right path for the organization and keep us ahead of the competition. Additionally, all development is done in house. We do not outsource any of our development, so new Engineers own the products we develop and are the front line for all innovation. We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to improve our practices. If you would like to discuss this further, please reach out to HR.

Pros

ExamSoft has strong leadership with a clear and consistent vision for where the company is headed. The organization does a great job staying true to its identity while continuing to evolve its product suite in ways that meet and often exceed client needs. There is a genuine mindset of continuous improvement, and that shows up in both the platform and how teams approach their work. It’s also a mission you can genuinely get behind. The company is deeply invested in doing right by its clients and often goes further than most to ensure success. There’s a strong commitment to getting it right, every time, not just delivering a product. Training and onboarding are taken seriously, and teams are generally supportive and willing to help you ramp and succeed. There’s a sense that people want you to do well, especially early on. The company also does a solid job of practicing what it promotes around work-life balance. While base salaries may not always be the most competitive, the bonus structure, commissions, and overall benefits package help offset that gap in a meaningful way.

Cons

Upward mobility is limited, and career progression can feel unclear or stagnant over time. There is also a noticeable tendency for favoritism within management, which can impact opportunities and team dynamics. The culture can lean political and, at times, toxic depending on the team or leadership structure. While it’s not the worst environment out there, it can create friction and inconsistency in employee experience.
