Pros

Good Benefits, decent starting pay, plenty of things to take your mind off work (paddle ball tables, go karts, bikes, work out room). Great cafeteria.

Cons

Training is inefficient. Was told in interview there would be 4 weeks of training (two weeks in classroom and two weeks on phones). Training is called "the ranch" consisted of quick training. Total of 5 days instructional (including two half days hooked up to another rep to listen in on phone calls). After you pass "the test" on day 6 you are thrown on the phones. In 6 months I have seen a lot of people come and go, including supervisors/leads. One sales team can go thru several supervisors/leads in a year. Each supervisor has a different style or set of expectations. I've seen supervisors that will penalize you for asking a question regarding tech support that can be found in the "vault". For every product there is an article that you have to read in order to troubleshoot a product. With any call center, customers can be very difficult. Can not disconnect on someone who is being inappropriate or who is cussing you out. Same people who are angry at GoDaddy for their products not working are scoring you on your customer service. They can take out their anger and frustration that their business is down due to some sort of malfunction even though you provided impeccable customer service. Sales matrix is difficult to achieve when call volume is low. Trading schedules is difficult to impossible. Calls are manipulated. If your sales are low, you are filtered tech support calls. If your sales are high you are filtered sales calls. End of month or bonus period a great sales person will get tech calls. Makes it difficult to get the higher bonus tiers or you will watch your bonus level go down because you didn't answer enough calls (can miss a bonus by just one phone call). Reps will try to dump a tech call as fast as possible to get into a sales call. One can find themselves working overtime to try to meet sales goals when call volume is low. Easy to burn out, I've seen co-workers nearly in tears from customers screaming at them. I had one co-worker that had his life threatened by a caller. High stress during outages.

Thank you for your feedback on the new hire on-boarding process at GoDaddy. We are continuously working to improve our new hire experience. Regarding our timeframe for training, currently our standard training consists of 7 classroom days and 13 on-the-job training days (4 weeks total). The 13 days of OJT is a mixture of classroom training and time on the phones taking live calls while receiving direct support from Trainers. This format provides sufficient time for our new hires to have a strong foundation before joining their individual teams. In the near future we will be implementing more application based rehearsal in classroom training as well as increased frequency of knowledge checks and we believe these enhancements will continue to improve our new hire on-boarding program. Additionally, we continue to focus on how to best help our, leaders to provide effective coaching and development in an effort to equip our employees with the skills they need to be successful. We understand that this job isn’t easy, and we are very proud of our employees. There are times when customers are going to be frustrated, and if a customer becomes abusive as you pointed out, we ask our agents to pass that type of call on to a member of leadership. We do not want any of our agents to feel abused, and work hard to provide our agents with career opportunities to ensure they don’t get “burnt out”. Our focus is provide the customer with a world class customer experience, this includes consulting with our customers and helping them grow their business. We do not separate sales and support because we value our customer’s time and we care about their dreams coming true. When a customer calls us, they are routed to an agent based on the customer’s needs, they are never routed based on performance. Training is the same for every agent, and we continue to provide on the job training throughout an agent’s career. We do this to ensure that agents are qualified to take care of our customers, and that they feel comfortable with products as the market continues to evolve. We do not manipulate calls and do not intend to, create an unfair advantage for our employees or our customers. We apologize that you did not have the ideal experience during your time with the company. This feedback is valued and we will use this to make our company better as we strive to continually, make our customers and employees feel valued, they come first, plain and simple. We pride ourselves in creating work environments that allow for multiple avenues for employees to alleviate stress and have fun. This is also seen in our expansive remodel projects that are rolling out. Sincerely, Kara Nuss & James Ewing

Pros

Great benefits, cool people (not including leadership)

Cons

- You'll be worked like a slave, told when you can take your breaks and lunches. - Boy's Club. If you're in it, you can get away with lying to customers, breaking company policy, and basically whatever you want. If you're not part of it, watch your back, you'll be hyper-scrutinized for every action you take. - Commissions are capped, so top performers are limited. - This is not a true sales job, you are taking inbound customer service calls and will be expected to do technical support and deal with escalated inbound customers. - Much of the job has been outsourced to a Business Partner Organization (BPO) in the Philippines. Because they aren't true GoDaddy employees, they are allowed to operate like the wild wild west. Lying to customers, selling them duplicate products, deleting things from their accounts and reselling them the same product. Basically a complete legal nightmare... but you aren't allowed to complain about it and you are expected to fix all the problems they create.
