Thank you for your feedback on the new hire on-boarding process at GoDaddy. We are continuously working to improve our new hire experience. Regarding our timeframe for training, currently our standard training consists of 7 classroom days and 13 on-the-job training days (4 weeks total). The 13 days of OJT is a mixture of classroom training and time on the phones taking live calls while receiving direct support from Trainers. This format provides sufficient time for our new hires to have a strong foundation before joining their individual teams. In the near future we will be implementing more application based rehearsal in classroom training as well as increased frequency of knowledge checks and we believe these enhancements will continue to improve our new hire on-boarding program. Additionally, we continue to focus on how to best help our, leaders to provide effective coaching and development in an effort to equip our employees with the skills they need to be successful.
We understand that this job isn’t easy, and we are very proud of our employees. There are times when customers are going to be frustrated, and if a customer becomes abusive as you pointed out, we ask our agents to pass that type of call on to a member of leadership. We do not want any of our agents to feel abused, and work hard to provide our agents with career opportunities to ensure they don’t get “burnt out”. Our focus is provide the customer with a world class customer experience, this includes consulting with our customers and helping them grow their business. We do not separate sales and support because we value our customer’s time and we care about their dreams coming true.
When a customer calls us, they are routed to an agent based on the customer’s needs, they are never routed based on performance. Training is the same for every agent, and we continue to provide on the job training throughout an agent’s career. We do this to ensure that agents are qualified to take care of our customers, and that they feel comfortable with products as the market continues to evolve. We do not manipulate calls and do not intend to, create an unfair advantage for our employees or our customers.
We apologize that you did not have the ideal experience during your time with the company. This feedback is valued and we will use this to make our company better as we strive to continually, make our customers and employees feel valued, they come first, plain and simple. We pride ourselves in creating work environments that allow for multiple avenues for employees to alleviate stress and have fun. This is also seen in our expansive remodel projects that are rolling out.
Sincerely,
Kara Nuss & James Ewing
