Pros

Smaller hospital, friendly co-workers. note: my opinions here at NOT for Administration of the hospital. Opinions are for who is over Revenue Cycle.

Cons

Patient Access (Admitting) is under different umbrella and follows different payroll/procedures/rules from the rest of the hospital staff. The main focus is upfront collections and once you collect a certain amount, higher ups want more and more. It was never enough. More than 3 minutes late? That is a 1/2 of a point.... eventually can be terminated. Very strict rules, didn't feel I was treated as an adult. New leadership came and terminated 3 months before my 25th work anniversary. Unfair reasons. Get the patient thru as fast as you can and collect all of their money - takes away from the small town hospital friendly feel that the patients want and used to receive.

Pros

People in the lab are very nice

Cons

Pay is the lowest around. If you work to cover an odd shift to get a meager bonus, you'll have to beg and remind them to pay you the bonus for months. They buy the cheapest equipment that always breaks down and squeeze every bit of work out of people for terrible pay. Felt taken advantage of there!
