Pros

You get to learn a lot of things, but you have to learn most things on your own due to lack of staff and training

Cons

Low pay per industry standards and HHM knows it! VERY limited staffing levels No support from General Managers due to never ending conference calls, meetings and vast number of emails, which are all a priority Managers have to work desk shifts regularly in order to reduce expenses, leading to long work hours Overall morale of the team members has declined from past years due to long hiring process (on purpose), which leads to the employees working extra shifts and longer hours No formal training program in place for any position--fend for yourself! The particular location of the hotel I worked at is horrible! Regularly dealt with prostitutes, drug addicts and homeless people in the hotel. Corporate doesn't seem to have a clue what goes on in their hotels (or maybe don't care?), except for the financials

Pros

Colleagues are fun to work with

Cons

Management is terrible. They expect you to do things around their timeline, but when you ask them for something, crickets. There are no sop's. This place flies by the rest of their pants and half the stuff you do is questionable. When you do question it, it's just how it is. Expect to put in about 5-10 hours of overtime each month.
