Pros
There are some genuinely wonderful people who work in the corporate office, they just aren't in any management roles. The view from the office is pretty nice, but that's it.

Where to begin... First off the job that you're interviewing for probably doesn't exist. If it sounds too good to be true it is. The bait and switch is a time honored, well rehearsed practice at HHM. They know they have a bad reputation and they will try to convince you they don't and the job is amazing. HR is unfortunately in on it. If you're entertaining working here, I highly suggest you ask how many people have had your position before you and why they left and see if you trust what they tell you. I was told only 2 people had done that position in 10 years and they left for a 'great' opportunity and on good terms. It was clear after two weeks that that was a lie and there had been multiple people who had done the role in the last few years, always having quit or been fired. In the less than 1 year I worked there, I watched 20+ people quit, out of an office of 65 people. The turnover is insane and there is no institutional knowledge left. You'll show up with no one to train you and just a binder with notes to follow from 3 years ago. They'll tell you that it is because the organization is so well known in the industry that working there is like taking a stepping stone on your career path to the next great thing. It's mostly because once people get there, and get a sense of morale and realize the benefits are terrible and the management has real, deep seeded issues both professionally and as individuals, they know there is no hope in staying and trying to make a difference. Sexism, nepotism and the idea that management need not abide by the same rules as employees are huge issues that remain unaddressed. It felt like the emperor was wearing no clothes and everyone knew it, but no one would say anything. There are a few very good eggs there. People who embody what the company originally started as, a mom and pop operation that grew into a huge corporation. There are people there that started as doormen and worked their way up the ladder who are wonderful human beings, but they're few and far between. Ultimately, there's not enough pros to make any of this worth it. You will get limited vacation days, the cheapest health insurance and if you're a young woman forget about getting paid even a single dollar while on maternity leave. If a family member dies, you're welcome to go to the funeral, but be ready to come back to a pile of work and not an ounce of understanding. If the corporate office was one of their properties, you'd see a shimmering brand new hotel and be told about the incredible pool and free buffet, only to open the doors and enter into a dank, crusty, run down motel full of angry and disappointed people. I cannot encourage you enough to run far, far away from this place.
