Pros

The RDO’s that I have been employed under have always been helpful

Cons

Every one higher up than RDO’s don’t listen to you. They are money hungry. They cover up extremely concerning practices for doctors so they can continue to profit. Extremely toxic management. Lie about the changes they “promise” to make. Despite quarterly price increases - staff sees no change in appreciation (verbal, physical, or monetary). They have made it very clear they don’t care about staff, clients, or patients, as long as the doctor is bringing in an adequate amount of profit. They show no concern for doctors practicing horrible and incorrect medicine, considering they promise medical autonomy this is extreme disheartening and concerning.

Pros

I just completed 12 months of working on the marketing team. I can honestly say that the negative reviews on here are a poor representation of the company. I applied to Heartland desiring job security, work life balance, and professional growth opportunities. All three of these were achieved without compromise. A sharp contrast from other companies I've worked at prior. The culture here also feels genuine, like a bunch of people from different backgrounds coming together over their shared passion for pets. It never felt like a set of values developed by a leadership team that you are asked to buy-in to. Some additional highlights are: - Remote work - Pay is competitive - Great team working at the support center - Leadership that feels like they care about you as an individual, beyond what value you bring to the org

Cons

Heartland grew fast prior to me joining and has continued growing since. With that can come periods of transition, new processes, and new technologies to learn. If you are the type of person who loves routine and knowing exactly what to expect from every day, this might not be the company for you. Though in my experience, most companies these days are going through changes of some kind, and some manage it better than others. Heartland certainly does so strategically and with intent. I've never been given the impression that a change happening here is done reactively or for the sake of changing. There are always valid reasons provided.

Pros

Good benefits, some autonomy for your individual practice, support for marketing and other essentials.

Cons

Very corporate and political. Too many transitions in leadership to maintain a steady relationship and following through on staff and hospital needs. Within three years, I had 3 RDOs, 3 doctor turnovers, and a full staff turnover happened right before I was hired. After giving so much to the company, I was clearly being pushed out and the day I left I have never felt so relieved.
