Pros
HEI is a great place for young engineers and designers. It is a a fun fast paced environment. The corporate culture of work hard play hard give back is a good one. There is good work life balance. Compensation is ok. Not the best but not the worst, either.
Cons
Poor advancement opportunities for more senior and well qualified engineers. Many engineers with 10-15 years of experience have been passed up for promotions only to see younger people with less experience are being promoted first. Too much focus on selling in promotions instead of also promoting people who possess the skills and knowledge to lead teams effectively and complete the work that has been sold. Losing sight of the balance that needs to exist between selling work and knowledge and skills to complete the work.
