Great place for servers and bartenders to make money, but not a case for server assistants - Server Assistant Hilton Employee Review

Pros

Almost consistantly great tips for a server, bartender at Palmer House Hilton. Lots of regular customers that staff can establish great and lasting relationships with. Also plenty of longterm employes throughout all of the departments.

Cons

Buspersons are NOT consistantly, regulary, fairly tipped. Lots of times they are not tipped at all by some servers and the management or union are not helping. So buspersons end up working a phisically grueling (especially busy breakfast buffet) shift end are going home with only $9 /hr pay. Hopefully this huge issue is solved by now.

Pros

The location in Belltown is good, very close to downtown."

Cons

Workplace abuse and lack of empathy in Housekeeping I want to share my account as a former employee to warn future workers and to prompt senior management to take action. The atmosphere in the Housekeeping department is extremely hostile due to a complete lack of empathy and the abusive behavior of two individuals: the department head and a supervisor who has only recently taken on the role. This new supervisor constantly abuses her authority and seems to take pleasure in humiliating and mistreating new hires. She lacks both patience and professionalism, and all of this happens with the backing of the department head, who allows these abuses to continue rather than correcting them.It is a real shame, because there is another supervisor at the hotel who has been in her role much longer and is the exact opposite: a woman with immense empathy who is extremely kind, patient, and respectful toward all the staff—especially the new hires. Unfortunately, the work experience becomes unbearable due to the arrogance of the boss and the new supervisor. I hope hotel management pays attention to this, because they are losing valuable employees by failing to put a stop to the abusive behavior of these two individuals.
