Pros

Compensation, remote work, parental leave, 401K match

Cons

Right now Humana is on the rocks a bit and shareholders have really taken a bite out of employees share of the business profits. Lots of workforce reductions that aren’t really tied to business need has really made Humana a company with an always on culture. Supposedly we are getting new benefit packages introduced this summer and I doubt it’s going to go in employees favor as they’ve been very profit focused over the last 3 years. Used to be a great place to work now it’s just a good place to work.

Pros

Great benefits, healthcare starting day 1, endless professional development opportunities, very community atmosphere

Cons

Being part of the VSP (Verified Staffing Pool) is tough as it is not a full time role and they do not often have full time roles to switch into. If you are on the high-volume recruitment teams, it's extremely high volume and hiring managers have the ability to ruin your employment status if things don't end up going their way though it might be out of your control.

Pros

It was once a company centered around doing the right thing for the member above all else. There are still a lot of great people who work there, but most of the legacy leadership, and with it their industry knowledge, is now gone. They are one of the largest of the big 6.

Cons

It is about the bottom line. It is a purely transactional relationship.
