Pros
Abreon is a very lean team, with most people working remotely. That means there are no committee meetings or lengthy approval processes...so you can actually get things done! Getting IT support or answers to questions happens pretty fast because there are no layers of bureaucracy. I have a lot of leeway to try different things to achieve my goals and I get to wear a lot of hats. I like getting involved with different aspects of the business and applying my skills wherever they are needed. I enjoy independence and the freedom to take a task and run with it. At the same time, the entire Abreon team is always there to support you if you need input or assistance. A a member of the office team, I have found Abreon to be flexible with work schedules and supportive of a healthy work/life balance. Everyone I interact with is friendly and helpful, always willing to share their expertise and advice.
Cons
A virtual office is not for everyone, you have to adjust to phone calls and web meetings to stay connected. Being lean means being busy, there can be long hours at times and you have to be patient with people's busy schedules. The price of independence is increased responsibility: the buck stops with you. I enjoy the casual, relaxed atmosphere we maintain but can see how it might a change for some.
