Horrible place to work - Associate Counsel Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law Employee Review

Pros

The office is downtown DC on K street near great places to eat. Staff not in upper management are friendly and passionate about the work. Interns are treated well, though not paid

Cons

Staff turnover is VERY HIGH. There is a reason for this. Outside of the economic justice and housing projects, people are unhappy and unappreciated. Upper management does not heed the concerns of their staff (fair pay, respect, recognition, etc) and never will until real change occurs. For a “civil rights” organization there is a lot of change that has to happen, starting with upper management

Pros

Great mission and great colleagues.

Cons

There are many programs and active cases, would be great to have more opportunities to share and learn what others are working on.

Pros

I loved the team I was assigned to. They allowed me to work with both the litigation and policy teams.

Cons

Nothing bad to report. I loved being an intern.
