Pros

Great cause fighting for civil rights and social justice. The organization has become a lot more high profile in recent years, particularly through leadership in the voting rights realm. Significant experience and wealth of knowledge among upper management. Staff attorneys and support staff are incredibly talented and wonderful to work with as well.

Cons

Experience varies drastically by project, and some project directors are more adept at managing people than others. Unfortunately, the different issue areas tend to work in silos, and there is little crossover or even awareness of activities between issue areas. Often, major projects are planned poorly by management, leaving staff with incredible amounts of work and unrealistic deadlines. Once hired, there is not much room for advancement -- for legal or nonlegal staff -- and there are few professional development opportunities.

Pros

Great mission and great colleagues.

Cons

There are many programs and active cases, would be great to have more opportunities to share and learn what others are working on.

Pros

I loved the team I was assigned to. They allowed me to work with both the litigation and policy teams.

Cons

Nothing bad to report. I loved being an intern.
