Pros

Competitive pay and good health insurance. That’s about it.

Cons

I used to really enjoy working here. Now everything is micromanaged, to the max. They have reports, that track how much you are looking at reports. Surprised, they haven’t come up with some sort of personal tracking device, to hear what associates are saying to customers during a sale. If you do not sell ray ban, Oakley or blue iq $500 lenses to every customer, you are deemed unsuccessful, and not providing the best customer experience. Managers are constantly being told they are not doing enough coaching with their staff, especially if you do not make plan for the day. And upper management does not listen, to feedback from the stores. They just keep pushing. And forget about any praise, for the 100 things, you did right. They will only focus on the 1 thing you didn’t win at. Bottom line. This job will suck the life out of you, and you will never be good enough.

Pros

Great pay and benefits! Thankfully I work with a great team as well!

Cons

This is the ultimate rat race job, always chasing numbers and getting scrutinized for every little thing they track, including non sales things like how many inspections Opticians are doing no other Optician job I have had is so hyper focused on numbers and tracking everything. Also your total hours can get cut based on store performance on occasion. But if you can put up with that you can collect a great paycheck overall! Just know you are worth more than these "numbers" they have you chase, and create a life outside of work that reflects your true personal value and non-monetary values.
