Pros
-Good boss who cares about coworkers -Relatively good co-workers -i love children so working with children is great! - i also love photography
Cons
-UNDERSTAFFED, UNDERSTAFFED, UNDERSTAFFED i cannot express this enough. i don’t know how many times me and one other coworker have been busting our butts photographing, selling, answering phones (which by the way CANNOT go answered any missed phone call counts against the studio) they understaff due to the fact that a certain amount of labor hours are given for number of appointments which fine whatever but it matters when we’re at the max amount of appointments for two people and no one gets a break -UNRELIABLE SCHEDULE during Christmas season i would say black friday until actual Christmas day is absolute hell on earth. i did my first peak season this year and just wow.. i remember i worked a 12 hour shift which is pretty normal during peak on a FIFTEEN minute break. i truly don’t think i’ll be able to do another season of that because it’s a nightmare with the customers being aggravated at us, screaming kids tired from waiting, and every coworker being irritated at each other just from all of these things combined -NOT VERY GOOD PAY i make $12.50 an hour which is meh. not terrible but definitely should be at least $14. my back hurts daily and it is a physically and mentally draining job -HIGH expectations In each session we are supposed to get at least 3 stories of different things on two different backgrounds and in most of them this is achievable however sometimes it just isn’t happening and we only get 15 minutes and that’s somewhat more lenient in the off season but FORGET it during xmas season
