Pros

Committed to its craft of providing quality school pictures

Cons

Since being acquired by Shutterfly Inc in 2018, Lifetouch has been a company trying to find itself. Lots of turnover from the top down through it's integration into the Shutterfly corporate structure. Covid-19 hit Lifetouch hard, resulting in more changes and a significant reduction in force, affecting all levels of employees.

Pros

Strong since of community at local level, and support from Directors and regional managers however all that support is no longer employed.

Cons

Revolving CEO lead to new strategic focus every 3 years. Round after round of layoffs, mergers, restructures. I went through no less than 6 during my 5 years as a senior manager. Lost local control, and ability to build relationships with accounts. Closed offices based on lease agreements rather than area performance. I would be very careful to ask questions about culture, and tenure of staff, ask how many offices were closed or restructures have happened since Shutterfly, and then Apollo Global Capital. Apollo Global Management usually holds onto assets for 3-5 years, we are past that mark so I would be expecting that they will be breaking up Shutterfly in the near future if it is no longer profitable.
