Pros
I will say that if you start out as a photographer, you will learn a skill (photography), and you will get a lot of experience dealing with customers.
Cons
-You will not be able to do your best work due to a constant lack of appropriate staffing, shoddy equipment, and a general lack of support from upper management. -The company virtually never gives raises. - The scheduling is only done 3-4 days in advance (and sometimes changes the morning of your scheduled job)-- despite their having confirmed shoots up to a year in advance. You also need to give them three weeks notice in order to request a day off and even then you are unlikely to get the request approved during the "busy season" (which is all year except late winter and early spring).
